Is Ruben Neves switching loyalties: The current season has entered its closing stages and the rumours of a few star players leaving their clubs to join their rivals have already started to surface. The top clubs of England are willing to further strengthen their teams as soon as possible and they are already looking to utilise the upcoming summer transfer window to do so.

One of the key names that have been circulating around the circuit is Ruben Neves. The 25 years old Portuguese midfielder is currently one of the best players at Wolverhampton Wanderers and is integral to the way the team plays. If the recent reports are to be believed, Mikel Arteta is extremely interested in bringing him to Arsenal. The Gunners are trying to find a long term partner for Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard and Neves can become a great fit alongside them.

In today’s market, Neves is expected to cost somewhere between £50m-£60m and that has made top clubs such as Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United interested too.

It’s still unsure whether Spurs and United will go for Neves in the end or not as one will have to get rid of a couple before signing a new one and the other needs to fixate their minds on one particular midfielder. So, as of now, only Arsenal are willing to go the distance as the future of Granit Xhaka is still in doubt.

Ruben Neves – Worth £100m?

Wolves’ manager Bruno Lage has other intentions. He definitely wants to keep Neves by his side as in an interview he said, “When you have that player, the best thing to do is improve his salary and years of contract”. Undoubtedly, Neves has been sensational for his team this season and has only two years left on his contract. So, if the Wolves’ management fails to strike a new deal with Neves and his agent, the situation will become more complicated and his market value may drop significantly before entering the final year of his contract. Also, there is another possibility of losing him for free after his contract runs out. So, what will happen in the end is still unknown to us but if Arsenal can get their hands on Neves, the competition for the top 4 is set to become more fierce.
