In news that will gladden many an Arsenal fan around the globe, reports are emerging that the club have intensified their efforts to acquire Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus and that the deal is all but agreed upon. Arsenal has been admirers of the Brazilian for a long time, and manager Mikel Arteta has been a fan of the striker, having worked with him as an assistant coach at Man City. He has been at the forefront of the discussions, Along with Edu Gaspar and has been in constant contact with the Brazilian’s agents since April.

With City having recently agreed on a deal with Dortmund for Erling Haaland, this has all but certainly spelt the end of Jesus’ time in Manchester. It is said that he wants to be the leader of an attack, which can’t happen at the Etihad. Arsenal is more than willing to offer him that role.
Further, manager Pep Guardiola has a rotation policy too. This sees Jesus go in and out of the team, which is something that he may not like. A lot of players are fine with this policy of Pep but it is being suggested that Jesus wants more of an active role in the starting eleven.
