Arsenal Just a step away from completing another signing

With less than two weeks remaining until the transfer window closes, Arsenal are just a step away from completing the signing of Martin Odegaard for 35m from Real Madrid, with the Norway international set to sign a permanent 5-year contract at the Emirates. Martin was Arsenal’s number one priority this summer as the club suffered severely last season due to lack of a creative and attacking midfielder, a position in which Odegaard will fit perfectly and solve the club’s creative problems. The club, board, and the manager always rated the player very highly and were keen to get him permanently, gaffer Mikel Arteta’s number one target going into this summer transfer window was Martin Odegaard, and as things stand, Arsenal have almost got their man. Reports suggest that negotiations with Real Madrid have reached a conclusion as both the clubs have agreed upon a fee, talks between the clubs escalated after Odegaard was left out of the squad to face Alaves.

The 22-year-old spent the second half of the season at the Emirates last season and has set his heart at Arsenal ever since. Martin was welcomed by the fans with open arms and was admired by the manager as well, something which he felt was missing at Real Madrid, he also felt that he didn’t get the playing time he deserved at Real Madrid. It is reported that Los Blanco’s new gaffer, Ancelotti, did not have Martin in his plans and thus, decided to sell him at the right price.

With personal terms already agreed with the player, Arsenal are looking to wrap the deal up as quickly as possible in order to have Odegaard in contention to play against Chelsea in their next game.

Will this signing be Arsenal’s final signing this transfer window?

With the Odegaard deal almost complete, Arsenal will now be looking to sign a backup goalkeeper, a right-back, and possibly another midfielder. Previously, the Gunners were also looking to sign Leicester City midfielder, James Maddison, but instead opted to sign Martin Odegaard. Another player Arsenal are very close to signing is Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United, and will be looking to complete that deal as well before the transfer window ends.

The last two weeks of the transfer window will be reportedly very busy for the Gunners with a number of players departing, while the club will be hoping that some new faces will arrive as well.
