€51,000-Per-week player wants to leave Real Madrid in the summer transfer window of 2023
Fichajes, a Spanish news website, claims that Real Madrid’s offer of a new contract to Dani Ceballos was rejected. The 26-year-old has expressed displeasure with his current situation at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu. Both Atletico Madrid and Real Betis are interested in signing him ahead of the 2023/24 season when he will begin a new chapter in his life.
Since moving to Real Madrid from Real Betis in July 2017, Dani Ceballos has been unable to live up to his enormous potential. When the Spanish midfielder came from the Andalusian club, he was considered one of the top young players in the world. Because of the presence of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, though, he has never been more than a backup player.
Even a two-year loan stint at Arsenal didn’t turn out the way he hoped. The 26-year-old had a good first season with the Gunners, but he regressed the following year. Ceballos has now shown himself to be a reliable backup for Carlo Ancelotti.
The Spanish international has increased his playing time, appearing in 41 games so far this season. Ceballos has a respectable stat line as well, with one goal and eight assists. However, Real Madrid is in a bind since his contract expires in a matter of weeks.
Dani Ceballos, a Spanish midfielder who just turned 26 and wants to try something different this summer, maybe leaving Real Madrid shortly
Atletico Madrid and Real Betis aren’t the only Spanish teams interested in Ceballos’ contract predicament. He has reportedly been linked to Barcelona as well. The general consensus, though, was that the Spaniard was eager to stay on at Real Madrid. However, it seems that is no longer the case.
The Merengues have been trying to re-sign the Spanish international player, who is now 26 years old. In spite of this, Ceballos has decided to turn down Real Madrid’s contract offer. He would rather leave the Spanish club permanently during the summer transfer window than wait for a better offer.
The former Real Betis midfielder hopes that returning to regular football would revive his flagging career. Real Madrid, however, is interested in signing both Jude Bellingham and Gabri Veiga this summer, so he won’t be getting any playing time. Ceballos has decided to leave Real Madrid after being offered a contract and has decided to pursue other opportunities.
