“Will Real Madrid take him back?”, £3,300-a-week player wants to return back to Real Madrid

In the summer transfer window, Rayo Vallecano defender Fran Garcia is allegedly getting closer to signing with former club Real Madrid

Fran Garcia, according to Defensa Central, has turned down a transfer to Real Betis. The 23-year-old defender for Rayo Vallecano is close to reuniting with Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. Thus he has no interest in joining the Andalusian club.

Fran Garcia attended and graduated from Real Madrid’s prestigious La Fabrica youth program. The Spanish defender has been at Real Madrid for over a decade, starting as an academy player. Despite his best efforts, he was never able to break through at Santiago Bernabeu and, in September 2020, he transferred to Rayo Vallecano.

After a productive loan season in 2020–21 with Rayo Vallecano, the club made the 23-year-old a permanent addition in July 2021. Garcia has improved steadily since then, to the point that he is now considered one of La Liga’s top fullbacks. Furthermore, he has contributed to Rayo Vallecano with three goals and eight assists in one hundred games played.

As a result of his improvement, the attention of numerous major teams has been drawn to the Spaniard. Real Betis, Sevilla, and even his previous club Real Madrid are among them. When Alex Moreno moved to Aston Villa, Real Betis sought to recruit the 23-year-old Spanish defender.

Garcia, however, has declined to sign with the Andalusian club in favour of returning to Real Madrid. And Defensa Central reports that the La Liga winners are very close to re-signing the star. The future of Ferland Mendy is so unclear that the transfer makes sense.

Los Blancos are contemplating selling the Frenchman during the summer transfer window. And if Mendy leaves over the summer, Fran Garcia is the man to step in. The 23-year-old Spanish defender may not have a flashy reputation, but he plays well and contributes much to his team. Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, places a premium on it.

The Spaniard has shown himself in La Liga and has the skills necessary to succeed at Real Madrid. It remains to be seen whether a summer relocation really takes place. For the time being, Garcia has turned down a transfer to Real Betis in favour of a return to Real Madrid this summer.
