It was an excellent start to the weekend for Arsenal off the pitch as Manchester United were able to defeat Tottenham thanks to Ronaldo’s hat trick. Tottenham and the Red Devils are the two other contenders apart from Arsenal who are battling it out for a Champions League spot.

As things stand currently, Arsenal are comfortably placed fourth in the table, 1 point ahead of United but have 3 more games in hand. They are also 6 points ahead of Tottenham despite playing a match lesser than their rivals. This means that they are well on course to play in the Champions League next season, with the Gunners returning to the tournament after 5 long years.

Thomas Partey scored a fantastic header against Leicester:

After a pacey counterattack by the Gunners, they earned a corner in the game’s opening stages. Gabriel Martinelli aimed it perfectly towards his teammate, Thomas Partey who headed the ball in the back of the net. This is Partey’s second league goal of the season, both of them have been headers with the first coming against Aston Villa. Both of his goals have come at the Emirates and both of them have been the opening goals of the match.

Later in the match, just minutes after scoring his first goal, Partey took another shot from 30 yards away but was unable to get his second as the ball bounced off the woodwork.
