On talkSPORT at 7:05 p.m. on June 26, 2022, Darren Bent expressed his desire for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to acquire Marc Cucurella from Brighton and Hove Albion during the next summer transfer window. Cucurella is currently playing for Brighton and Hove Albion.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker who now cheers for Arsenal believes that the Gunners should strengthen their defence by adding two new fullbacks this summer.
Bent has expressed his desire for Arsenal to acquire Cucurella, a 23-year-old left defender who now plays for Premier League opponents Brighton.
However, the talkSPORT commentator said that he is aware that Arsenal will not be able to sign the player who once played for Barcelona.
Bent said the following on talkSPORT on June 26, 2022: “I also believe that we need two full-backs. If Tierney is unable to make it, we need someone else who can fill in.
I enjoy Cucurella. I am aware that we are unable to get him, but I would want that sort of player to play ahead of Tierney or them so that they can compete.”
It is quite unlikely that Marc Cucurella will join Arsenal
We believe that it is very improbable that Arsenal would be able to recruit Marc Cucurella from Brighton and Hove Albion during the summer transfer window.
There are no reliable reports that suggest the Gunners are interested in signing the left-back who represents Spain at the international level and is 23 years old. In addition to this, rumours have claimed that both Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in Cucurella.
Pep Guardiola is said to be interested in having the left-back player for his Manchester City team, who currently holds the title of Premier League winners.
According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in Cucurella, and Brighton is reportedly seeking at least £45 million for him.
During the 20121-22 Premier League campaign, Cucurella played 35 times for Brighton and was involved in two goals and one assist.
