Patrick Vieira Confirms His pick between two football greats of different eras

In a recent press conference, Arsenal legend and current Crystal Palace manager has claimed that Thierry Henry is on another level compared to Tottenham’s captain and arguably the club’s best player, Harry Kane. Before the game against Tottenham, Vieria answered the question as he replied “Thierry Henry, I am sorry he is in a different level. I love Kane, he is a fantastic player, but Thierry is still Thierry.” Patrick Vieira and Henry were teammates when Arsenal were crowned Invincibles in the league, both of them played crucial roles in helping the club to build the legacy it upholds today.

Harry Kane, on the other hand, has been in world-class form since last season, the Tottenham captain also lifted the golden boot last season as he registered 23 goals to his name ahead of Mohamed Salah who scored 21. Following his heroics for both club and country last season, Kane was heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham as Manchester City tried to acquire his services for 150m but eventually, the forward decided to stay in North London.

Who has scored more goals?

Harry Kane has scored 223 goals for Tottenham in 339 appearances so far in all competitions, while Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has registered 228 in 376 appearances. However, the main difference which differentiates the two is the amount of silverware and major honors Henry has to his name with the Gunners. This was the very reason Harry Kane wanted to depart from Spurs and join Manchester City this summer, in order to win trophies and build a legacy.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright also had his say on this, “I believe he’s a world-class striker, but some will question that, you haven’t won enough for a player who scores the number of goals he has. Ian Wright is also often compared to Kane, he added “He’ll probably break the England goalscorer’s record, for me he’s [got] 40 goals, he will break that [Rooney’s England record]. He probably will regret it if he doesn’t win anything.”
