Twitter Reacts to Arsenal’s victory :
How have we not scored yet, what an amazing first half from us. Martinelli and Saka running the show 🔥. We have to make more of these chances in the second half. So far so good. #ARSWHU pic.twitter.com/0hjVtqf5b4

Despite sustained pressure in the first half Arsenal failed to open the scoring which left the Arsenal contingent frustrated. Arsenal had plenty of chances in the first half with Kieran Tierney coming the closest by forcing Fabianski into a save who could only deflect it to the post. Granit Xhaka could have also opened the scoring for Arsenal as Bukayo Saka played a lovely one-two with Martin Odegaard after putting it on the plate for the Swiss International.

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 48th minute after sustained pressure in the first half. Alexandre Lacazette assisted the goal for Martinelli as he burst past West Ham defenders and finished it in style. Gabriel Martinelli has now scored 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 5 Premier League games for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta will be delighted with the young Brazilians emergence in the absence of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the Arsenal squad.

Alexandre Lacazette didn’t get his goal but he put on a superb performance despite missing the penalty. Alexandre Lacazette captained the Arsenal side after a controversial past few days concerning the captaincy issue at Arsenal. Lacazette led the young Arsenal side as he assisted Gabriel Martinelli’s opener.

Emile Smith-Rowe made it 2-0 for Arsenal in the 87th minute with a superb finish from his weaker left foot. Emile came on as a late sub replacing Martin Odegaard and delivering for Mikel Arteta. Jamie Vardy is the only English player with more Premier League goals than Emile Smith Rowe this season. Emile Smith Rowe has now scored 6 goals in the Premier League so for Arsenal.
