Arsenal has been hit by another captain crisis as Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has been stripped of the captaincy. Mikel Arteta described the decision as being based on several ‘disciplinary breaches’ by the Gabon Striker. Arsenal football club released a statement where they confirmed that he will not be in the squad to face West Ham. This begs the question of who will be the next captain of Arsenal as we look at four players to replace Aubameyang as the new captain of Arsenal :

Arsenal’s solid centre back can be an amazing option for the club to be the next captain. The Brazilian has been in terrific form this season and is slowly becoming a fan favourite. Gabriel is only 23 years of age and could cement the captaincy for a long time. Gabriel is also regular in the lineup which makes him one of the ideal options for Mikel Arteta to consider.
#3 Aaron Ramsdale
Darren Bent tips Ramsdale to replace Aubameyang as club captain

Ramsdale has become a fan favourite right from his first game at Arsenal. It has also been a while since Arsenal have had an English captain, although Rob Holding, Jack Wilshere & Theo Walcott have taken up the role temporarily. Tony Adams was arguably Arsenal’s greatest captain as an England international. He also possesses great leadership qualities as seen in the recent games.
#2 Kieran Tierney

Scottish International Kieran Tierney comes off as a proper captain material for Mikel Arteta to consider. If you have to pick a captain they have to be a big part of the future. Kieran Tierney makes the perfect candidate to be the captain of The North London club. If Kieran Tierney could be fit for a long period he will be Mikel’s ideal candidate.
#1 Martin Odegaard

The Norwegian International Martin Odegaard is number one on our list to be the next captain of Arsenal. At just 22 years of age, Martin has vast experience and is also the captain of his national team which includes the likes of Erling Haaland. Martin Odegaard has also been in splendid form lately – As we finish looking at our list of four players to replace Aubameyang as the new captain of Arsenal.
