Real Madrid Has Taken A Big Decision Regarding One Of Their Player’s Future

Real Madrid is ready to offer Eder Militao a new deal, regardless of the outcome of their pursuit of Antonio Rudiger

According to renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid is planning a new contract offer for Eder Militao, regardless of whether or not they buy Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger in the summer transfer window.

A contract of €50 million was struck between Real Madrid and FC Porto in the summer of 2019. Eder Militao joined the club from FC Porto. However, the Brazilian international had a rough rookie season. He was unable to get consistent playing time. Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos were the unquestioned first-team players. However, the 24-year-old had a regular starting role in the team last season as a result of Ramos’s injury problems. Since then, he has not looked back.

Militao had a successful season last season. He has continued to be in excellent form this season. Thus, he formed a rock-solid defensive combination with new arrival David Alaba, who has also been in excellent form. It was due to their efforts that Real Madrid was able to establish an almost unbeatable advantage at the top of La Liga and advance to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

During the same period, Real Madrid was on the lookout for a new center-back. Antonio Rudiger, the Chelsea superstar who will become a free agent at the end of the season, is being pursued by several European clubs. Los Blancos are interested in signing him and adding to their defensive depth. However, it is doubtful that this will influence Eder Militao’s future.

Militao will get a new deal

Indeed, according to the latest report from Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid will proceed with their new contract offer for Militao regardless of the outcome of their chase for Rudiger. He is now under contract with the Spanish capital club until the summer of 2025. However, as a result of his outstanding accomplishments, the club is eager to reward him with a better contract.

Romano claims that a proposal is already on the table. Real Madrid expects no snags in the extension process. The agreement will be done over the next few weeks.

Apart from Militao, Real Madrid is also intending to hold contract negotiations with Vinicius Junior and Luka Modric. The latter of whom has a contract that expires after the season. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both showing interest in signing Marco Asensio. So, the La Liga leaders have submitted a fresh offer for the winger.
