Arsenal’s Asking Price For Bernd Leno Revealed

After having a terrible start to the season, Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta by dropping Bernd Leno and started Aaron Ramsdale. Leno has been Arsenal’s number 1 for more than two seasons now, the former Bayer Leverkusen man signed for the Gunners in 2018 and has won a FA Cup with them. He was admired by the manager and the team so much that they sold backup keeper Emi Martinez who was absolutely outstanding in the games he played to fill in the boots of Leno who was injured in 2020.

After Martinez was sold, Arsenal fans had high hopes from Leno, as he was now the lone goalkeeper Arsenal could rely upon. The German international was not very consistent, and his mistakes often lead to conceding goals. Ahead of this season, Arsenal acquired the services of Aaron Ramsdale, a 23-year-old English goalkeeper. While the signing and the amount the Gunners paid was questioned by the fans initially, it is proving to be a steal as of now.

Following three consecutive losses, Arsenal started Ramsdale in the goal versus Norwich City, in which they won 1-0. Following that game, Aaron Ramsdale has been a starter, and things do not look good for Bernd Leno at the moment.

After being dropped for three games, it looks certain that Aaron Ramsdale is the new number 1 for Arsenal. Leno runs out of contract next summer and with the recent happenings around him, he could be on his way out as soon as this winter transfer window. Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly interested in Bernd, and it has been revealed according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti that Arsenal would listen to an offer in the range of 15m. While the season has only just begun, it will be interesting to see how things work out between Aaron Ramsdale and Bernd Leno.
