Chelsea Are Plotting To Ruin Real Madrid’s Party

Chelsea and their new plans: Real Madrid has just lifted their 35th La Liga title last night and the entire capital of Spain has emerged in celebrations. Despite the success, the Royal Whites are definitely hungry for more as they are gearing up to take their revenge on Manchester City at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The spirits are running high within the club and team and amidst all these, the board and the manager Carlo Ancelotti have undoubtedly started to plan for the upcoming season.

If the rumours are to be believed, Real Madrid is going all-in for Kylian Mbappe. In recent weeks, another name that has surfaced is Chelsea’s Reece James. Ancelotti is a huge fan of the 22-year old Caboham graduate and wants to bring him to Madrid. During the quarter-final clashes between these two sides, even the Real Madrid players started to take a liking to him and one such incident became evident when Karim Benzema swapped shirts with James after the second leg.

Can Chelsea Retain Reece James?

Reece’s current contract at his boyhood club runs out in 2023. He and his family love the club and his father even expressed his gratitude towards Chelsea multiple times. James is one of the most celebrated players amongst the supporters and is backed to become a future Chelsea captain.

With the new owners yet to be decided, giving James a new contract should be at the top of the priority list as soon as possible. Chelsea has already lost their two key defenders in the form of Antonio Rudiger and Andres Christensen. So, they can not afford to lose Reece on top of it.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel loves to work with James and after his display at the Old Trafford against Manchester United, Tuchel said, “I would love to have two of Reece James, that would solve the problem”. All in all, the ball will be on the court of the new owners. The testing times await them after the takeover as that phase will test not only their ability to attract marquee footballers but also their ability to retain the star players of the current squad.
