Andrea Belotti May Very Well Be Headed To England If Arteta Persists

Andrea Belotti – a name that often becomes the centre of attention in the discussions regarding the underrated footballers in world football may well now be on his way out of his current club, Torino. Belotti first came to the spotlight in 2014 while playing for Palermo alongside Paulo Dybala. His impact as a substitute made Torino buy him in 2015.

Soon after that, he rose to become the focal point of their attack and was later shouldered with the responsibility of leading the team in 2017. In his stint at Torino, spanning over five years, the 27-year-old has scored 107 goals and provided 27 assists in all competitions. But as things stand, he is highly unlikely to renew his current contract and that may result in Tornio selling their captain in January.

The latest movement rumours about Andrea Belotti

According to the reports, the two giants of Milan are extremely interested in signing the Italian international. AC Milan and Inter both have ageing forwards in their rosters in the form of Zlatan Ibrahimović and Edin Džeko respectively. So, arranging a move in the winter transfer window for a striker entering his prime makes a lot of sense.

Listening to the recent news though, the striker has other ideas in his mind. He reportedly is open to a move outside of Italy and has a preference of playing in England, specifically for Arsenal. As reports suggest, Mikel Arteta is also not against this move as Alexandre Lacazette could be on his way out of London.

This is not the first time Belotti is linked to a Premier League club, During Antonio Conte’s tenure at Chelsea, Belotti was one of the favourites to replace Diego Costa in the starting eleven. Although, the current speculation is stronger than the previous one. Arsenal are also interested in Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic and Arteta is yet to rule out the possibility of Lacazette staying at the club. So, things are quite complicated on their end. In the past few hours, Conte’s current team, Tottenham Hotspurs have also emerged as the next possible destination for Belotti.

It’s obvious that Andrea is looking for an exit, after serving his club with all his heart and leaving everything on the pitch for his team in every single game. He is an embodiment of true leadership on and off the pitch. So, the interests in him are not surprising. But where will he end up? Well, that drama is yet to unfold.
