According to The Sun, Everton manager Frank Lampard has his sights set on bringing Arsenal target Cody Gakpo over from PSV during the next summer transfer window.

According to the article that was published in a British newspaper, Everton manager Lampard allegedly dispatched Steve Davis to observe Gakpo play for PSV in their UEFA Champions League qualifying match against Rangers the week before.

The winger, who is 23 years old, has been linked with many teams, one of which is Arsenal, which is coached by Mikel Arteta.

Earlier this month, FootMercato published a report stating that Leeds and Arsenal are both interested in acquiring the services of the Netherlands national team winger during the summer transfer window.

It has been rumoured that Manchester United is also interested in signing Gakpo.

In our view, it will be difficult for Everton to beat off Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to acquire Cody Gakpo from PSV before the summer transfer window closes.

Will Everton get Cody Gakpo?

Everton may be one of the most well-known and successful clubs in the Premier League, yet Arsenal and Manchester United are both bigger clubs than them.

The 23-year-old would be more interested in playing for the Gunners or the Red Devils than he would be with the Toffees. In the first two games of the Eredivisie season, Gakpo has played for PSV and contributed to three goals scored and one assist.

During the previous season, the winger made 22 starts in the league and contributed 12 goals and 13 assists.

At the beginning of the 2022–2023 season for his Dutch team, the player, who is 23 years old, has been in fine form, scoring three goals and registering four assists in a total of six games.

The Netherlands international was also outstanding for PSV in the previous season, when he played 47 times in all competitions, scoring 21 goals and registering 15 assists.

It is said that Manchester United would want to sign Gakpo before the conclusion of the transfer window, even if they are currently negotiating a deal to acquire the attacking player Antony from Ajax.

According to the journalist, Rik Elfrink, the twenty-time English champions had already reached a personal terms deal with the player and his agents.
