“We want to get him to replace Carvajal”, Real Madrid is in line to sign the €280,000-a-week star Right-Back

Champions of La Liga Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for PSG defender Achraf Hakimi of Morocco

Defensa Central claims that Real Madrid is interested in acquiring Achraf Hakimi. Los Blancos may not be able to sign the Moroccan defender because of their sour relationship with Paris Saint-Germain.

At only 24 years old, Achraf Hakimi has already accumulated invaluable life experience. The teenage fullback left Real Madrid’s academy half a decade ago. But he never made a significant impact at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, it was during his two-year loan at Borussia Dortmund that he really came into his own as a player.

The Moroccan national team player returned to Real Madrid in 2020, but the club promptly traded him to Inter Milan. And in July 2021, Hakimi moved to PSG after spending the previous season with the Nerazzurri. As a regular at Parc des Princes since then, the player has steadily improved. The 2022–23 season has been a great one for him.

Hakimi played a crucial role in helping the Atlas Lions of Morocco go to the World Cup semi-finals in 2022. The 24-year-old has appeared in 23 games for PSG, contributing three goals and three assists. Real Madrid is interested in re-signing the former Inter Milan defender because of his development.

In the near future, Real Madrid will need to invest in a right back since Dani Carvajal’s performance has declined. For a long time, the Spanish veteran has been Real Madrid’s go-to right back. However, he has had trouble staying fit over the last couple of seasons, which has hindered his performance on the field.

Ivan Fresneda is one of many right-backs who have recently caught Real Madrid’s attention. Furthermore, Hakimi is an open target as well. However, Los Blancos’ fragile ties with Paris Saint-Germain will make things more difficult. In light of PSG’s interest in one of their players, though, they may have a secret weapon up their sleeve.

Ferland Mendy has caught the attention of the French champions. And with Mendy as leverage, Real Madrid may be able to lure Hakimi back to the Santiago Bernabeu. It remains to be seen, though, whether PSG will be willing to let go of such a valuable possession.
