Twitter Reacts As Real Madrid Win The Spanish Super Cup
With a massive win over Atheltic Bilbao in the finals, Real Madrid crowned the Spanish Super Cup winners for the 12th time. This trophy marks the first silverware for the Los Blancos under Ancelotti since the manager returned to Spain this season. After securing a win over their archrivals, Barca in the semi-finals, Ancelotti’s men were certainly favourites going into this match against Bilbao, safe to say they didn’t disappoint a bit.
Luka Modric opened up the scoring for Real Madrid as he finished the move he started. Rodrygo put in a phenomenal pass from a tight angle. Further finessed one right past the keeper into the top right corner by Modric.

Karim Benzema further extended Real Madrid’s lead as the number 9 converted the penalty in a fantastic fashion as the France international continues his fiery form. Meanwhile, there was late drama at the other end when Eder Militao conceded a penalty in the 85th minute of the match and received a red card in the process. Unlike Real Madrid, Bilbao failed to convert their penalty as Thibaut Courtois made an incredible save to bury all chances of a comeback for the opposition.
As the Los Blancos lift their 12th title, they now are just one trophy short of Barca who have won the Spanish Super Cup most number of times (13). With this win, the morale of Real Madrid going forward will be of the highest..

Luka Modric is Real Madrid‘s oldest goalscorer since 1976. At 36 Luka Modric is not letting his age get in the way as he is still considered one of the best in his position.

Once Toni and Luka retire, people will look back at their time at Real Madrid and realize Kroos and Modric are the two best midfielders we’ve ever had next to Zidane.
