Former Real Madrid full-back, Fabio Coentrao has chosen to pursue a very different career after retiring from football. The former Portugal international has followed his passion and is now a fisherman, Fabio reportedly bought his first fishing boat during his playing days and has now permanently decided to devote all his time to his passion which is also said to be his dream job. Following the first time he bought a boat, Coentrao now has a fleet and is often seen expressing his love for the same.
Fabio Coentrao is a very good friend of Cristiano Ronaldo, mainly due to their time together in Real Madrid and the national squad as well. While the latter’s career is still very active, the former has taken a very different career approach.

Coentrao has over 100 appearances for Real Madrid and has won two Champions League titles as well as two La Liga trophies with the Spanish giants. He also spent time on loan at Sporting CP and AS Monaco in the latter stages of his career where he talked about how his ‘was the sea’ growing up.

In a recent conversation with ‘Empower Brands’ YouTube channel,‘ Coenteao explained ‘Life in the sea is not a shame, as many people think,’ he said. ‘It is a job like any other. Not only that, the sea is beautiful and we need it, people who love the sea and who want to experience the sea need to follow their dream.’
When asked if he always wanted to go fishing, Fabio replied that he knew that his football career would end one day and that he had to take a new direction in his life. And that he is very happy with his current career and would like to continue it further as well.
