Twitter Reacts As Arsenal Secure A Convincing Win Over Brentford At The Emirates
In what proved to be another fantastic outing for the Gunners in the Premier League, Arsenal secured a massive win against Brentford. A win this weekend was more than crucial for Arteta’s men going into the latter stages of the league. Arsenal were dominant from the very first minute, from intercepting crucial balls in the midfield to having a total of 24 shots. They kept 67% possession with an xG (expected goals) of 1.6.
The Gunners were unable to score in the first half after Lacazette’s goal was flagged offside but began the proceedings in fantastic fashion in the second half. Young sensation Emile Smith Rowe broke the deadlock as he glided past defenders and finessed one past a helpless David Raya. From then on, it was all Arsenal creating and finding ways to score more. Although, Brentford did create a few chances on the break and did look dangerous at times.
It was not late until ESR’s companion, Bukayo Saka smashed one and got his name on the scoresheet as well. This most definitely confirmed a win for the Gunners as the Emirates erupted. The visitors managed to pull out a scrappy goal at the very end which ruined a well-deserved clean sheet for Ramsdale and co.
This win will prove to be very crucial in the long run as the top 4 race is firing up with every passing week. With this victory, the Gunners are currently 4th in the table, level on points with West Ham who have played 3 more games than Arsenal. Manchester United are just 1 point ahead but have played 2 games more as well. Rivals Tottenham Hotspur are 6 points behind the Gunners with a game in hand.
Another win in the league has ignited some serious hope within fans of finishing in the top 4. Mikel Arteta and his men will be aiming to secure as many wins as possible to secure a CL spot as well. We look at how Twitter reacted as Arsenal triumphed over Brentford.
