“We will do everything to get him”, Real madrid wants to sign the £70,000-PER-WEEK Liverpool star

Liverpool’s 23-year-old star player Ibrahima Konate has apparently caught the eye of La Liga winners Real Madrid, who are considering a transfer for the next season

A French media site, Media Foot, has reported that Carlo Ancelotti is an avid fan of Ibrahima Konate. Additionally, Real Madrid’s management is keen on bringing the 23-year-old Liverpool defender to Los Blancos this season.

Since his time in France, Ibrahima Konate has been regarded as a top central defender. But after joining RB Leipzig 4.5 years ago, the kid stormed into the scene. The Frenchman has a history of injuries, but he always performed well when he was healthy and on the field until signing for Liverpool in July 2021.

In the previous 18 months, the 23-year-old has made steady development, appearing in 33 games and contributing three goals and one assist. And in the run-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, Konate was a key contributor for France. And Real Madrid has taken notice of the player’s development.

For many years, Real Madrid has kept an eye on Konate. Yet while keeping a tight eye on him, the Merengues have yet to take decisive action. As Nacho’s future remains in doubt, Real Madrid will need to add a new central defender. A number of sources have also suggested that David Alaba might get more time at left-back this season.

Moreover, with the Austrian international well over the age of 30, Real Madrid would do well to recruit a youthful central defender. Josko Gvardiol is now on Real Madrid’s radar. However, Konate is also a player Los Blancos might pursue in the next summer transfer window.

Despite his past physical problems, the 23-year-old still has a decade of professional football ahead of him. Yet Real Madrid has an uphill battle in trying to lure Konate away from Liverpool. Konate is one of the faces of Jurgen Klopp’s upcoming Liverpool project, despite the allure of playing for the Spanish club.

It would make sense for Real Madrid to go for Gvardiol. The current La Liga winners have reportedly gained an edge in the bidding for the Croat’s services, according to recent sources. It remains to be seen, though, whether or not Real Madrid will be successful in their attempt to get Konate away from Liverpool.
