Twitter Congratulates Cristiano Ronaldo On His Incredible Feat Of Becoming The Highest Goal-Scorer In The History Of Football
Manchester United has always been famous for their iconic comebacks and every single time there has been one figure leading the revolution right from the front, may it be Jimmy Murphy or Sir Alex Ferguson, the team endured. Similarly, in 2021-22, the team’s Premier League run has been plagued left and right with staggeringly mediocre showdowns but the old face of Cristiano Ronaldo still continues to be the guiding light.
They say that you need a vanguard to show you the path in the murkiest of times and the current season has offered very little hope to Manchester United. With Atletico Madrid being their next assignment that will seal United’s European fate, the Old Trafford congregation desperately hoped for their star striker to deliver.
Cristiano Ronaldo delivers Manchester United again
Cometh the hour, cometh the man! Ronaldo added a new trophy to the already bloated cabinet of records as the Manchester United marksman smashed home a phenomenal hattrick to become the leading goal-scorer of the world. He surpassed the official record of Austro-Czech, Josef Bican to claim 807 goals to his name as he toppled the previously staggering figures of 804.
As early as 12 minutes in the clock, the Portuguese sharpshooter unleashed a searing strike to usher United ahead. He dribbled his way past a couple of defenders, used the ample space offered to him by a precarious Spurs rearguard and hammered a picture-perfect strike into the top left corner of the net.
Despite Tottenham’s equalizer from the spot, Ronaldo was on a marauding run for the night and found himself at the receiving end of Sancho’s fizzling low cross. His fine run helped him to smash home the second of the night, allowing Manchester United to go into the breather with a slender lead.
Despite United conceding the lead for the second time, Ronaldo’s presence continued to give them hope. A fine corner from Alex Telles was slammed into the back of the net as the Portuguese striker outleapt his marker to slot home a clinical finish that would pen Ronaldo’s second-ever hat-trick for Manchester United.
Twitter went berserk as Cristiano Ronaldo returned to his bedazzling self to send the Manchester United fans into a frenzy of ecstasy.
