Top 5 Goals Of Arsenal In 2021

Attacking football and Arsenal sounds like a match made in heaven! The Gunners are known for their attacking and quality football. With the majority of goals coming as they play from the back. “PJeezlaying football the Arsenal way”, quite literally. While there were numerous brilliant goals scored under Mikel Arteta this year, we look at the top 5 goals of Arsenal 2021.

#5 Gabriel Martinelli vs Newcastle United, 27th November

Straight off the bench and straight amongst the goalscorers, Gabriel Martinelli was just what Arsenal needed as he doubled their lead over Newcastle United. A wonderful cross whipped in by Takehiro Tomiyasu converted by Martinelli. As he found the back of the net with a brilliant volley as he was making a run.

To top it all off, it was the Brazilian’s first touch in the game as well. This not only secured Arsenal 3 points but also boosted Martinelli’s morale and helped him find his rhythm. He went on to score 4 more goals in just 6 games that followed.

#4 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang vs Tottenham Hotspur, 26th September

Aubameyang scoring in the North London Derby certainly rings a lot of bells. The Gabon international finished off a brilliant team goal which secured the Gunners a win over their arch-rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. Emile Smith Rowe passed to Aubameyang who flicked it back to the number 10 who further glided past Spurs’ defenders and finally assisted Auba who eventually, smashed it in the back of the net.

If this wasn’t enough for Arsenal fans, Aubameyang then went on to pull off the iconic knee slide celebration which club legend Thierry Henry did against Tottenham in his days.

#3 Kieran Tierney vs West Bromwich Albion, 2nd January

While it does seem odd seeing Tierney in this list, his goal against WBA was just simply too good to ignore. Swaying past defenders while wearing a half sleeve jersey in the snow is something only Kieran Tierney can pull off, and he certainly lived up to the task.

The Scottish left-back binned the ball in the top right corner as he found his only goal of the 20/21 season in fantastic fashion.

#2 Martin Odegaard vs Olympiakos, 11th March

Huge expectations to perform well for the new boy? Martin Odegaard humbly accepted the challenge as he went full ‘Xhaka-boom’ mode against Olympiakos in the Europa League. The Norweigan scoredJeez a rocket of a goal from 30 yards out.

Odegaard unleashed a ferocious strike as he left the goalkeeper, Jose Sa completely clueless, something defenders are often familiar with when they go up against Martin Odegaard.

#1 Alexandre Lacazette vs Sheffield United, 11th April

A move that was started by Lacazette, ended with him netting the final touch. The number 9 passed to Bukayo Saka who further flicked it to Ceballos, who eventually assisted Lacazette as he finished the move in fantastic fashion, Arsene Wenger would be definitely proud of that team goal as we look at the top 5 goals of Arsenal 2021.
