The Englishman didn’t have a dream start to his Premier League career as he was part of the relegated Sheffield United and AFC Bournemouth sides. But right now, the 23-year old is in the form of his life. With the family members and the friends in the stands to cheer for him, he is gaining popularity amongst the Arsenal faithfuls, especially, amongst the young fans.

After the Leicester City match, the young supporters kept on asking for his shirt and in the end, he had to leave the field without both shirt and boots. With the kind of performances he has produced since joining the Gunners, he has every right to enjoy these good moments and he is rightfully doing so.

What’s next for Aaron Ramsdale?

His performance has received praises from various former players. The list includes former goalkeepers such as Peter Schmeichel and David Seaman. The club legend Ian Wright has also publicly expressed his fondness towards the brilliant young English keeper.

Despite all these, manager Mikel Arteta wants Aaron Ramsdale to keep his feet on the ground and keep on doing what he has been doing. Although, these words won’t calm down the voices of the supporters as they are now backing their new goalkeeper to become England’s number 1. Since joining Arsenal, Ramsdale has surpassed the expectations of the fans and the critics and has cemented his place in the starting eleven.

Ramsdale was heard quoting, “[My] Mum, Dad & my friend [were in the stands]. My girlfriend is working but they follow me all around the country. The kids just keep coming with more signs [asking for my shirt]! It’s hard to say no to them! [My] boots & shirt are gone!”

Former starter Bernd Leno’s journey to the first eleven is becoming more and more challenging every single day and this just shows how good a fit Ramsdale has been to Arteta’s football philosophy and Arsenal’s team structure. The next aim in his mind has to be England’s number 1 goalkeeper spot and this way he is playing at the moment, he may snatch that spot from Jordan Pickford sooner than expected.
