Real Madrid Out-Of-Favour Player Has Taken A Decision Regarding His Future For The Next Season

Out-of-favour Jesus Vallejo, a defender for Real Madrid, has said that he has no intention of leaving the club this summer, despite Espanyol’s interest in signing him

Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo is reportedly not interested in leaving the club this summer even though he has fallen out of favour at the Santiago Bernabeu. This information comes from GOAL. Even if Espanyol, a team in La Liga, is interested in recruiting the 25-year-old, he has every intention of remaining in the capital of Spain.

Vallejo was a member of Real Zaragoza’s development program for most of his career until making the move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2015. He was promptly loaned back to the club he played for growing up for a season, and then after that, he spent some further time on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt. After making very few appearances for Madrid between the years 2017 and 2019, he was loaned out to Wolves but returned to Madrid after just six months because he was having trouble getting playing time.

Vallejo was loaned out to Granada for the second half of the 2019–20 season. He performed well during his time there, and as a result, the club decided to keep him there for the whole 2020–21 season as well. After spending two loan periods with the Spanish club, the 25-year-old made a total of 50 games for them before returning to Real Madrid last summer after Carlo Ancelotti decided to retain him on the roster as a reserve player.

However, Vallejo was not given many opportunities to play under the Italian, since Eder Militao, David Alaba, and Nacho were the three center backs that the Italian liked to use. As a direct consequence of this, the then-25-year-old participated in a total of just eight games across all tournaments throughout the 2021/22 campaign. As a result of the club’s decision to acquire Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer, Vallejo has dropped lower down Real Madrid’s depth chart.

According to recent reports, Real Madrid is allegedly open to the idea of selling him, and there seem to be interested parties in purchasing the player who once represented Real Zaragoza. Getafe is one of the clubs that are interested in acquiring the services of the 25-year-old player, and Espanyol is another.

Even though the Catalan club’s transfer ambitions have been impeded by financial concerns, the Catalan club has shown a great interest in wanting to sign Vallejo. They have not wavered in their determination to sign the Real Madrid defender during the summer.

Will Vallejo leave Los Blancos?

Even though he is utterly out of favor at Real Madrid, Vallejo does not want to resign from the club. It is believed that Los Blancos are pleased with the professional manner in which he conducted himself as well as his performances during the tail end of the previous campaign. However, the entrance of Rudiger makes things more difficult, which is why the Spanish and European champions were trying to send him on. Rudiger’s presence makes the situation more complicated.

But Vallejo, whose current contract spans through 2025, has shown a desire to keep working. In light of this, the onus will fall on Espanyol to persuade the defender to sever ties with Real Madrid and make the move to Catalonia during the next summer transfer window.
