In the span of the last two years at Leipzig, he has managed to rack up 12 goals and 14 assists from 64 appearances that underline the youngster’s involvement in goals. Given his heroics in international affairs that also accentuated the maturity that he has shown over the past years, he has already started getting handsome offers from suitors across the globe.

Two major contenders to rope his signature have been arch-rivals, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Both the teams want him to bolster their ranks that has seen a relative decline in recent years ever since the departure of two of the world’s biggest talismans, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The race between Real Madrid and Barcelona

Barcelona almost snapped him up deep in the summer transfer window, only to be thwarted by an elapsing transfer deadline. However, they have set Olmo in their sights and will go all guns blazing to rope this youngster in the following summer.

However, they will also have stiff competition from their arch-rivals Real Madrid, who will be eager to deal a telling blow to the aspirations of Barcelona. However, Olmo himself wants to join Camp Nou given his preceding bond with the club.

With Modric and Toni Kroos heading towards their twilight, Real Madrid will need a successor, and an attacker who can play in the wide depths of the Real midfield will be an extremely valuable addition to the squad. However, given Olmo’s preference, this will be a tough battle for Los Blancos, also considering the fact that Manchester United is also hot on the heels of this youngster.
