Portugal’s Andre Almeida, 22-year-old, is a midfielder who has been linked to a move to La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid as a potential replacement for Luka Modric

Andre Almeida was educated at the prestigious Vitoria Guimaraes school after spending his formative years back home in Brazil. Before leaving for Spain, the Portuguese midfielder saw his star rise at Estadio Dom Alonso Henriques. His value has gone up significantly since he joined Valencia last summer.

The 22-year-old has played in all 21 games for Los Che this season, contributing two goals and four assists. Almeida’s development has not gone ignored, though; other major teams, including Real Madrid, have shown interest in signing him.

This year, Real Madrid will work on establishing a framework for the future after Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. The two midfielders are still crucial to Los Blancos’ success. Because of their advanced years, though, Real Madrid will have to search for long-term replacements. For this reason, they have been keeping an eye on a number of promising midfielders for prospective moves this season.

Will Andre Almeida sign for Real Madrid?

When the summer transfer window opens, Real Madrid will be competing for the services of Jude Bellingham. But the Merengues need to keep their options open since Liverpool is also in the running to recruit the English international. Since this is the case, Almeida should be on the table for the Spanish champs.

The 22-year-old Portuguese midfielder has already established himself in La Liga and will be ready to contribute immediately to Real Madrid. Fichajes reports that the current La Liga winners see Almeida as a long-term replacement for Modric. He’s expensive since his contract doesn’t end until June 30th, 2028.

As a result, Los Che will likely ask for a high price to release the 22-year-old Portuguese midfielder. As of right now, Real Madrid is keeping tabs on Andre Almeida. It remains to be seen whether or if the Merengues go on the attack for the kid.
