Real Madrid, the La Liga champions, are reportedly looking at Alexander Isak to replace Luka Jovic after the Serb moved to Fiorentina
According to a report from the Spanish news site Fichajes, Real Madrid is interested in signing Alexander Isak in the summer transfer window. The Merengues could talk to La Real about a possible deal. La Real is likely to ask for between €50 million and €60 million for the Swede.
Alexander Isak has been known for a long time as one of the most promising young strikers in Europe. During his time at AIK, people in his home country compared him to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. But the Swedish international player had a disappointing time with Borussia Dortmund before Real Sociedad gave his career a boost.
Even though the 22-year-old isn’t done yet, his record of 43 goals and eight assists in 128 games for Real Sociedad in all competitions doesn’t give much hope. But Isak’s performance since he joined La Real has caught the attention of a lot of clubs, including La Liga champions Real Madrid.
In the summer transfer window, reigning La Liga champions Barcelona lost Luka Jovic when the Serbian international moved for free to Fiorentina. Mariano Diaz could leave the Santiago Bernabeu soon after Jovic, which would force Real Madrid to think about getting a striker.
Will Los Blancos get Isak?
Karim Benzema has been in the best shape of his life for the last four years, and he’s likely to win the Ballon d’Or this year. However, he’s getting close to the end of his career, and this year could be his last. Real Madrid will have to come up with a plan for what to do after the French striker, so Isak will come into the picture.
At first, the 22-year-old will play second fiddle to Benzema and might even play with Borja Mayoral. Even though his stats don’t make Real Madrid want to sign him, Isak might be able to become the “next Zlatan Ibrahimovic” if he learns from a legend like Benzema.
But Real Sociedad will want between €50 million and €60 million to let Isak go in the summer transfer window, which could make things harder for Real Madrid. But since the two La Liga clubs are already talking about a move for Takefusa Kubo, the transfer saga involving Isak might not be over, even though some reports say it is.
