Mikel Arteta Could Bring Another Fan Favourite To The Club After Wilshere

In a recent turn of events, former Arsenal player Santi Cazorla could be on his way to Arsenal in a different role. This comes in contrast with The Gunners bringing back their former players in one form or the other, a very recent example of this is Jack Wilshere returning to the club to train with them.

Cazorla left the club as a free agent in 2017 and joined Villarreal, but has expressed his will to come back to Arsenal several times. The Spaniard never got the opportunity to play his farewell game in front of his fans as injury forced him out of the action.

During a fan forum recently, the club indicated that they could bring back Santi Cazorla one last time to complete his goodbyes to the fans and the club. Last year during the winter transfer window, there were rumours that the Spaniard is on his way back to Arsenal for one last dance. But due to Covid, football shut around the world and the transfer never took place.

What did Mikel Arteta say about Santi Cazorla?

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta has expressed his respect and love for Cazorla on several occasions. Both of them together have played for the club on numerous occasions and are well-known companions. When asked about Santi he replied, “My opinion of Santi cannot be any higher. Personally, first, with the type of person he is and what he brings to that dressing room, but then also as a player for what he did throughout his career”

When Areta was asked the question of Cazorla returning to Arsenal as an assistant coach, he answered that “About the coaching role and the future, we will see what happens”

As Arsenal brings former players like Wilshere, David Seaman, and Robert Pires back into the club to help the youngsters and bolster their mentality, could Santi Cazorla be back on his way to Arsenal too?
