‘He is back to his best and carrying Barcelona’-Twitter reacts as Marc Andre ter Stegen has kept 7 clean sheets in Laliga

In their win against Celta Vigo, Barcelona was not very outstanding, but one man, in particular, shone out once again. Even though he was heavily criticized by a large number of people during the course of the last two seasons, Marc-Andre ter Stegen has shown early signs of returning to his dominant form.

In La Liga, Barcelona has kept a perfectly clean sheet seven times out of eight matches, allowing just one goal throughout that span. In the game against Celta, he once again played a pivotal role by making four stops to keep Barcelona in the lead.

He made a spectacular save from very close range to Iago Aspas’ shot that stood out in particular. According to Sport, Ter Stegen has made 19 saves out of the 20 shots he has been challenged with during his time in La Liga. His save percentage of 95% is higher than that of any other goalie competing in any of Europe’s top five leagues.

It also brings his scoreless streak to 624 minutes, shattering his personal record for the longest time he has gone without allowing a goal this season. In the Champions League, Barcelona has lost two out of three of its matches, but goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is not to blame for any of the goals that his team has let in. The Catalan club has surrendered a total of four goals.
