REPORTS: Barcelona Has Taken A Decision On Memphis Depay- Is He Staying Or Leaving?

Barcelona News Transfer: The success of Barcelona’s ambitions for the forthcoming transfer window will depend on the club’s ability to get rid of players who aren’t contributing to the team’s overall success. Given the present state of their finances and the negative pay margin, the Blaugrana must sell any player who is no longer contributing to the team.

However, this may not be as simple as it seems since the club may have trouble finding new teams for some of the players that they want to move on from. If this is the case, then doing so may not be as simple as it sounds.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Memphis Depay is an example of a player that Barcelona would not be averse to selling in the summer. However, the Catalan club has not yet received any bids for the 28-year-old midfielder.

The international player from the Netherlands has only been at Camp Nou since the summer of 2021 when he signed for the Catalan club after his previous agreement with Olympique Lyon ended.

In his first season in Catalonia, Depay had a somewhat successful year. He ended up tied for first place in the scoring race. He had scored 13 goals and assisted on two more throughout 38 games played across all competitions.

The 28-year-old’s playing time decreased over the second part of the season. But he managed to put together a good finish to the competition. Because his current deal is set to expire in 2023, Barcelona may be considering selling him. There has been interest from several other teams, including Arsenal.

According to the report, the Blaugrana have not yet been presented with any proposals for Depay from any of the teams who are interested in acquiring him.

Barcelona News Transfer: Will Memphis Depay leave Camp Nou?

The player, for his part, does not want to leave Barcelona and is hopeful that by signing a new deal, he will be able to extend the length of his stay at Camp Nou. Furthermore, the coaching staff of the club has shown no opposition to the possibility of retaining the services of the ex-Manchester United striker.

Even though the Catalans are interested in acquiring Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, Memphis Depay has a chance to make a significant contribution to the team. This is because Ousmane Dembele, Luuk de Jong, and Martin Braithwaite are all likely to leave the club.

Because the transfer market has not yet officially opened, Barcelona is still open to receiving proposals from other teams for the Dutchman. His future may be determined by how successfully the team does in the pursuit of their offensive targets as well.
