Barcelona and Real Madrid to fight for Jules Kounde as both of the Laliga giants are looking to bolster their defence. According to Sky Sports Germany, Kounde who is in much demand can join either Real Madrid or Barcelona. Jules was very close to joining Chelsea in the summer window of 2021 but failed cause of Monchi. The deal for Kounde was settled at £42 Million pounds, but later Monchi demanded the full £68million clause. Chelsea is still in front to sign the Frenchman from Sevilla but will face competition now from the Laliga giants. Kounde joined Sevilla from Girondins Bordeaux in June 2019 and went on to become a starter for the club.

Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona all have chances.

The fight will be tough as Chelsea can lose both Christensen and Rudiger in the summer. While Barcelona and Real Madrid are looking to sign an established defender for their team. If all three teams are interested, the asking price for Jules will definitely increase. Jules Kounde has played over 119 games for Sevilla scoring Seven times, assisting thrice. Jules is a key player for Sevilla this season as they are fighting for Laliga sitting in the Second spot. The release clause for Kounde is €80million and Sevilla demanding the same. Barcelona has also shortlisted Chelsea’s defender Christensen as one of their key targets. In case, Christensen leaves Chelsea, they will go all-in for Jules. Real Madrid is linked with Mbappe, Haaland as they look to end their transition period quickly. Real Madrid’s priority is to set their attack as they lack prolific goal scorers. But, the squad of Real Madrid not just lack attackers, but there’s also a shortage of good reliable defender. Kounde’s management will have a tough time dealing with three major clubs.

Kounde has already told the media that he was sad about the failed Chelsea move. But that’s past and he has moved forward now. Jules is just 23 and signing him will sort the long term demand for a quality defender. Only, time will tell which club is he joining, till then stay tuned.
