Atletico Madrid Wants To Take Away A Real Madrid Super Star In The Summer

Atletico Madrid is interested in making a surprise move for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. He will become a free agent in the summer of 2022

It has been reported that Atletico Madrid wants to recruit three players from other La Liga teams during the summer transfer window. Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale is one of the players in the interest list.

Gareth Bale has been a member of the Real Madrid team since 2013. He joined from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. He had a successful start to his career in Spain. Thus, winning the UEFA Champions League in his first season and contributing to the club’s following European success under Zinedine Zidane.

Bale, on the other hand, fell out of favour at Real Madrid as a result of recurrent injuries and a disagreement with the French strategist. The Welsh international has battled for playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu in recent years. However, he continues to represent his country and produce excellent performances.

In the previous season, Bale spent time on loan at Tottenham. Upon his return, he struggled to get playing time under Carlo Ancelotti’s guidance this season. Given that his contract with the club expires after the current campaign, the 32-year-old is almost guaranteed to pack his belongings and go during the summer transfer window.

A return to Tottenham is also on the line. It is doubtful that it will take place. There have also been rumours of a transfer to Tottenham’s arch-rivals Arsenal. Bale is also receiving attention from the United States.

Will the move take place?

Now, despite their great rivalry with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid has surfaced as a prospective contender for Bale’s services. The Rojiblancos have experienced a terrible season in 2021/22 as a result of their player’s inexperience. After a season of meek surrender, they are seeking to improve their team during the summer to fight for the championship.

Atletico Madrid wants reinforcements in the attacking third. Luis Suarez is expected to leave the club after the expiration of his contract in the summer. Furthermore, Matheus Cunha has not performed in the highest levels. As a result, increasing the number of possibilities available to the current Spanish champions would make sense.

To do this, Bale has surfaced as a potential target, even though he has played little for Real Madrid this season. According to the article, Simeone is aware of the risks. But he feels Bale may prove to be a valuable addition if all goes according to plan. It will be interesting to see whether or not such a move will take place.
