Arsenal’s biggest Premier League wins

Arsenal are known throughout the world for multiple things that the club from North London bestows. Trophies, world-class players and enthralling and entertaining wins where they managed to thrash their opponents with ease.

Here we take a look at 5 of Arsenal’s biggest Premier League wins because they’re all top-notch in entertainment and quality.

#5 – Arsenal 6-1 Southampton (2012)

This game is a fan favourite among Arsenal’s biggest Premier League wins for the sheer entertainment it has in it sleeves.

This game saw their former player Gervinho throw in a classic performance that made everyone admire the player he was. The Ivorian scored a brace in that match, where his teammates Lucas Podolski and Theo Walcott both grabbed one at their name.

Unfortunately for Southampton, the two remaining goals were both turned into the Saints’ net by their own players as own goals. Danny Fox scored as a consolation, but little did this matter as they were utterly humiliated by the Gunners.

#4 – Arsenal 6-0 Blackpool (2010)

Another 6 goals galore for the Gunners came in the match where the newly promoted Blackpool had come to grace the Emirates, but it didn’t turn out to be a fun evening for them as they had to fall victims to Theo Walcott who was at the peak of his game netting an astonishing hattrick.

The rest of the goals in this match included a very well taken penalty from the prolific Andrey Arshavin and both Marouane Chamkh and Abou Diaby gathering one in each bag. Surely the Emirates will remember this match for decades!

#3 – Arsenal 7-1 Blackburn (2012)

In this decimation of Blackburn, the most noticeable performance came from the Arsenal talisman of that time, Robin Van Persie who fired in a hattrick and was at the peak of his powers.

The young rookie Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was also a noticeable threat, and he went on to fulfil it as he got a brace to his name that game. The current Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta also got into the scoring sheet that day before something magnificent turned up.

Everything from Van Persie’s hattrick to the young Oxlade’s brace was under the shadow of the king of Arsenal, Thierry Henry returned to Arsenal and scored his first goal that made the match to 7-1. It is considered to be an iconic moment for decades. Blackburn didn’t get anything from the match except a goal from Morten Gamst  that made the match 1-1 at one point but didn’t really matter as the game went on.

#2 – Arsenal 7-0 Middlesbrough (2006)

In yet another scintillating performance where the gunners put 7 past their opponents, this time they had also managed to keep a cleansheet.

King Thierry Henry at his peak powers scored an amazing hattrick that had left the fans in his awe and also set him a record of equalling Bastin’s record of 150PL Goals for Arsenal.

Things at Highbury got better and better as Senderos, Silva, Pires and Hleb all added their names on the scoresheet. Its a day all the Middlesbrough fans would love to forget as it was another jaw-dropping performance from Arsene Wenger’s team.

#1 –  Arsenal 7-0 Everton (2005)

This is the game where the silky smooth Dennis Bergkamp turned back the time and showcased a performance that he was thoroughly applauded for. Dennis assisted 3 goals and got his name for his 4th involvement where he scored.

The game is remembered largely as after this performance from Bergkamp the Arsenal fans were singing for him to stay for another year. Not only was this game Bergkamp’s absolute best but also saw Van Persie, Pires, Vieira, Edu and Flamini on the scoresheet. 11th of May, 2005 is a date Highbury has etched in its name and remains as Arsenal’s biggest Premier League wins.
