Arsenal Open to sell star forward Aubameyang in a shocking transfer this summer

After signing a new glamorous contract last year with the Gunners which saw him extend his stay till 2024, star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang might be sold this summer as Arsenal are in for a massive overhaul. After leading his team to win the FA Cup, the Gabonese chose to stay at Arsenal as he signed a massive 300k per week contract even after having several offers on the table.

Aubameyang’s blistering pace and finishing skills helped him excel in the Premier League for the first two seasons, but his form dipped a lot in the previous season due to his mother falling ill which saw him miss several matches and then he himself caught malaria when on international duty.

This season, Arsenal fans put their faith in the club captain to gain his impressive form again, but no goals in six pre-season games has been a point of concern in the Arsenal camp. He just isn’t able to find the back of the net the same way he used to a season ago. Aubameyang’s presence was severely felt as Arsenal failed to beat newly-promoted Brentford in their season opener, as the Gunners failed to score even a single goal.

While team-mate and fellow striker Alexandre Lacazette was already on sale, reports emerging have now mentioned the possibility of Aubameyang leaving Arsenal this summer as well. While Lacazette could leave for free next summer if they don’t sell him this season, offloading Aubameyang will prove to be difficult for Arsenal. Both the strikers were absent against Brentford and are doubt in their game against Chelsea next weekend as well.

What next for Arsenal?

Arsenal are keen on signing Chelsea and English forward Tammy Abraham this summer if either Aubameyang or Lacazette depart this summer. While AS Roma have already agreed with Chelsea for a fee for Tammy, it is reported that the player doesn’t want to leave the Premier League and prefers a move to Arsenal. With less than 2 weeks remaining for the transfer window to close, it will be interesting to see how things turn out for the Gunners at the end of the window.
