Arsenal May Be Dealt A Deafeaning Blow As Alarming News About Kieran Tierney Surfaces

In a deafening blow to the Arsenal aspirations, as per the latest reports of SunSport, Kieran Tierney may be out for the remainder of the ongoing season after copping an injury in the international break. Though clarity still awaits, yet as per the latest information, he is most likely to miss the remaining Premier League and also Scotland’s World Cup play-off semi-final against Ukraine in June.

The semi-final is just a special mention. Steve Clarke and his wards will have a string of four Nation League ties coming up in a span of one month. Tierney was a part of the entire 90 minutes for both of Scotland’s friendlies against Poland and Austria. However, in Arsenal’s game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, he was not a part of the line-up.

This is what Mikel Arteta had to say about Kieran Tierney

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta clarified his absence, quoting, “He came back from international duty and felt something wrong in his knee. There is some damage there. We will hopefully know more on Tuesday but not looking good.”

Tierney has established himself as a towering presence both in the ranks of Arsenal and Scotland. The defender bagged an all-important strike against the Polish before the injury left him scrambling in the dark.

While all this would dampen the Arsenal spirits, Tierney’s former comrade, Callum McGregor savoured another win for Celtic in their bid to win the Premiership title.

Arsenal, on the contrary, was drowned by Crystal Palace in their latest fixture with Jean-Phillippe Mateta, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha finding the back of the net while Mikel Arteta’s men simply blew out of contention in front of the damning Eagles.

Arteta would be ringing the warning bells already as they will have to keep the winning momentum going their way if they are to secure a Champions League spot for the upcoming season and any defeat can be a major dent to their European aspirations.
