‘£100K-A-Week Player On Sale’- Arsenal Has Decided To Sell A First Team Player
Arsenal News Transfer: As reported by 90min, Arsenal Technical Director Edu has decided to sell Bernd Leno this summer. Newcastle United is interested in signing the German goalkeeper for the right price.
Arsenal’s board had a meeting with Leno this week and the goalkeeper revealed that he is ready to leave. The £100k-a-week goalkeeper has been used only four times last season.
Aaron Ramsdale has taken up his place as the first-choice keeper for the Gunners. Bernd Leno was in excellent form in 2019 and 2020. However, Arsenal still decided to go with Ramsdale as he was performing brilliantly for England.
As a result, Leno has no option but to leave the club as the Gunners are looking to sign Matt Turner as a replacement. It’s surprising to see, that Arsenal is letting him leave, even after knowing that he and Saka were the only positive for the team years back.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe wants Bernd Leno as he needs to improve his defense. Also, Fulham is trying to explore possibilities to sign him.
Arsenal News Transfer: Should Bernd Leno Take His Chances By Moving To Newcastle United?
Newcastle is already a team in progress and they have been excellent last season. Under the new owners and a new project, he could have the chance to become a star for the club for years to come.
Also, Eddie Howe is an excellent manager and could improve immensely. Leno will certainly start for the Magpies as he is still in his prime years. Newcastle could also give him a raise in his wages.
Fulham’s chances of signing him look slim as they have been recently promoted to the league and it would be a risk to join them at this moment.
As things stand, the German goalkeeper would love to win his place in the national team by impressing Newcastle.
