“Transfer price has been set up”, Tottenham reveal the asking price to Real Madrid for Son Heung-min
To pry South Korean star Son Heung-min away from his current club, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid will have to pay a transfer fee of €70 million
Fichajes, a publication in Spain, claims to have received information indicating that Tottenham Hotspur would seek €70 million to release Son Heung-min. Real Madrid is reportedly interested in bringing the South Korean striker to the club in the summer of 2023, should the opportunity present itself.
Since moving to Tottenham Hotspur from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015, Son Heung-min has continued to improve his game and has become one of the club’s most important players. The attacker, who is 30 years old and plays for a club in north London, has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League. He is also an important figure for the team. And on a personal level, he achieved the height of his accomplishments by winning the Golden Boot the previous year.
However, the South Korean international has had a difficult time living up to the standards set by himself during this season thus far during the 2022/23 campaign. Son has played in 18 matches across all competitions, but he only has five goals and two assists to show for his efforts. However, the player continues to be in great demand in the market, and Real Madrid is considering making a move to sign him.
Carlo Ancelotti, who coaches the team at Real Madrid, has a potent attacking unit at his disposal. This past year, Los Blancos’ assault has been in excellent form because to Rodrygo Goes’s progression and Vinicius Junior’s emergence as a figurehead for the team. However, Ancelotti is concerned about both Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio’s current form and their potential futures.
While Hazard maintains his deceptive behaviour, Asensio is in the final months of his deal. As a result, Real Madrid will need to make preparations to strengthen their offence during the summer transfer window of 2023. And Son has, quite properly, established himself as a player who the current La Liga winners may be interested in signing.
According to recent sources, Tottenham would not consider any offers for Son and will not do so at any price. The South Korean forward reportedly has a price tag of €70 million attached to him after Spurs placed it on the market, as reported by Fichajes. It’s possible that Real Madrid won’t be deterred by that estimate, since Los Blancos are in a position where they can afford to spend €70 million on a single player.
There is a good chance that Tottenham will continue to show little interest in releasing the 30-year-old player. However, Son’s motivation is also going to be very important for the Merengues and their attempt to sign the star. When it comes time to make a move for the Tottenham attacker in 2023, it will be intriguing to see whether Real Madrid is willing to pay the €70 million asking price.
