Liverpool Sends An Offer For A Real Madrid Player – Los Blancos’ Response?

An Italian publication, FCInterNews, has reported that Liverpool is exploring a surprise approach for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos during the summer transfer window.

Ceballos has been a Real Madrid player since 2017. He joined from fellow La Liga club Real Betis. In his first two seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 25-year-old failed to establish himself as a regular in the midfield despite being regarded as one of the most promising talents in the nation at the time of his arrival.

About The Interest in Ceballos:

Ceballos left Real Madrid in 2019 to join Arsenal on a season-long loan move after struggling for playing time at the Spanish club. The Spaniard had a successful stay at the Emirates. This led to the Gunners re-signing him on a season-long loan contract for the 2020/21 season as well. The former Arsenal player appeared 77 times for the club during his two years at the club. Thus, scoring two goals and assisting on another five.

Ceballos was connected with a move away from Real Madrid in the summer of last year. But he was unable to complete the move due to an injury. Following his latest comeback to action, the Spanish ace has made 11 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season. His future at the Bernabeu, though, is in doubt. Real Madrid is eager to cash in on his services when the current season concludes.

Ceballos has been garnering a lot of attention both inside Spain and from other countries. Former club Real Betis have shown an interest in re-signing the 25-year-old. Other La Liga teams such as Sevilla and Valencia are also interested in signing him. Inter Milan, the reigning Serie A winners, are also keeping a close eye on the Real Madrid star. However, according to FCInterNews, all of them will have to contend with Liverpool’s competitiveness.

Future of Ceballos:

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is on the lookout for midfield reinforcements as he attempts to improve his team’s overall strength. Currently, James Milner is nearing the end of his professional career. Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara are both in their thirties. They have been plagued by fitness difficulties in recent years. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is not receiving substantial playing time at the moment, may also contemplate a transfer away from the club.

To avoid this, Liverpool would have to consider buying a new midfielder in the summer. Several players, like Youri Tielemans of Leicester City and Yves Bissouma of Brighton & Hove Albion, have previously been mentioned as possible candidates. Similarly, Ceballos seems to have surfaced as a potential target in recent weeks. Liverpool is keeping an eye on his status.

Even though the 25-year-old has Premier League experience and performed well for Arsenal, it is doubtful that Liverpool would pursue the Spaniard. They instead will search elsewhere in the market for a more appropriate replacement.
