Real Madrid Has Already Identified Erling Haaland’s Alternative

Real Madrid is apparently considering Karim Adeyemi as a replacement for Erling Haaland, with the Spanish giants preparing a €40m bid for the German prodigy. Based on information from Spanish publication Defensa Central, La Liga giants Real Madrid have identified Karim Adeyemi as the ideal replacement for Erling Haaland in their attacking line-up. The Merengues are even prepared to make a €40 million bid to sign the German prodigy during the summer transfer window, according to reports.

In the short time since his return to Red Bull Salzburg from sister club FC Liefering in December 2019, Karim Adeyemi has established himself as one of the top young attackers in European football. Since Patson Daka’s transfer to Leicester City last summer, the 20-year-old has taken on greater responsibilities. That was after initially playing second fiddle to his teammate.

The German International has been in a red hot form

With the German national team, the youngster has established himself as a reliable scorer. He has scored 18 goals and given four assists in 28 appearances across all competitions so far this season. Many high-profile teams around Europe, notably Real Madrid, have taken note of the young prodigy’s exploits and have set their eyes on him as a result of his achievements.

The Spanish giants seem to be keen on putting in place a succession plan for Karim Benzema. It is understandable given the Frenchman’s dazzling record in recent years. Since Benzema is well into his thirties, the club must have a plan in place for when the experienced striker begins to be phased out as a regular.

As a result of Luka Jovic’s failure to capitalise on his opportunities, Real Madrid must look elsewhere for someone to take his position. They need a striker to come in and become Benzema’s genuine successor. To do this, Los Blancos have identified Erling Haaland as their first objective. This is despite recent rumours claiming that their interest in the Borussia Dortmund striker has waned.

According to recent sources, Haaland wants to join Real Madrid above other potential suitors such as Barcelona and Manchester City. Real Madrid, however, must have a backup plan in the face of intense rivalry for the youngster’s signing. So, Adeyemi emerged as their preferred option.

Adeyemi could be on his way to Dortmund. He would ironically be Erling Haaland’s successor, according to the widespread rumours. However, since the transfer is not yet finalised. The Merengues are keeping their hopes alive by preparing a €40m proposal.

Real Madrid would still want to acquire Haaland. It will be intriguing to see if they can outbid the competition to grab the Norwegian prodigy soon. A €40m bid for Adeyemi from Real Madrid is on the table. That is if the latter does not come to terms with his current club.
