“This Is Some Really Encouraging News”- Eden Hazard Reacts To Mbappe Refusing To Come To Real Madrid

Eden Hazard, who plays for Real Madrid, has said that he is pleased that Kylian Mbappe’s deal to move to the Spanish capital did not go through. The Belgian acknowledged that the arrival of the Frenchman would have resulted in an even more intense level of rivalry for positions at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Following the conclusion of his current deal with Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappe was widely anticipated to sign a free agent contract with Real Madrid (June 2022). Mbappe decided to sign a three-year contract extension with PSG rather than play out the last year of his current deal and join Los Blancos for free. This dashed Madrid’s chances of signing him.

Hazard can’t help but look at Mbappe’s failed move in a positive light, even though it has caused Madridistas to feel let down by his late-game decision. The Belgian is unwavering in his commitment to proving his value at Real Madrid. He feels that his objective would have been put in jeopardy with the arrival of the 23-year-old player.

What did Hazard say?

Hazard made these remarks at a press conference he had with Belgium (via Le10Sport):

“This is some really encouraging news. Real Madrid already has a high level of competitiveness among its players for places. But the addition of Kylian Mbappé would have made things much more competitive. Now it is time for me to demonstrate to the coach that I am prepared and able to participate in the game. But ever since I had the procedure, I’ve been feeling much better. My outlook on how I should handle things will not shift in any way. How I addressed each challenge was equally critical to my achievement.”

Since his huge transfer to Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2019, which cost €100 million, Hazard has only played in 66 games across all competitions for the Spanish club. He has recorded six goals and 10 assists in those 66 games for Real Madrid.

Next year at Real Madrid, it will likely be difficult for Eden Hazard to play at the position that most suits his skills

Los Blancos have not had the opportunity of seeing Hazard at his unstoppable best since they signed him three years ago after he had been at Chelsea for those same three years. The Belgium international continues to have faith that he can turn things around during the next campaign. But we feel that it will be a difficult road for him to go, particularly with Vinicius Junior operating at full capacity.

Vinicius was still getting used to his new environment in Madrid. The Brazilian player was capable of dribbling the ball. But he was not reliable. During the 2021-22 season, though, Vinicius demonstrated that he was a completely different animal.

Will Hazard be successful next year?

He finished the season with a total of 22 goals and 20 assists in all competitions. He was the one who scored the game-winning goal in the Champions League final match against Liverpool. Because the Brazil international is just undroppable at this juncture, Hazard may have a difficult time getting the left flank position that is his preference.

Hazard may have to switch positions and play as an offensive midfielder instead of a right-winger, or maybe attempt both! In any case, the 31-year-old player may face a significant obstacle during the next campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu.
