One of the biggest clashes of this super Sunday has to be Sevilla paying a visit to Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid is at the top of the LaLiga table at the moment and a win in this game will help them cement their top spot. Julen Lopetegui’s Sevilla on the other hand will look to snatch that spot as a win will ensure that.
The battle between two Spanish giants is much awaited as former Real Madrid manager Lopetegui is getting another opportunity to prove his worth at Santiago Bernabeu. Ancelotti will certainly try everything in his capacity to prevent that from happening and show the home spectators that he is the right man for the Real Madrid job.
For that to happen, the Italian manager must first pick his best possible starting eleven against a third-placed Sevilla side. A consistent Madrid side has won four of their last five games and is facing Sevilla on the back of three consecutive LaLiga game wins. An away win over Sheriff Tiraspol on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League clash has given them a much-needed confidence boost. But this victory has come at a cost.
Real Madrid’s Team News:
Madrid’s star singing David Alaba had to leave the pitch due to discomfort. He is added to the squad that’s supposed to face Sevilla on Sunday but the manager Carlo Ancelotti has indicated that he might not risk placing him in the starting eleven.
Federico Valverde has returned to training and is also included in the squad but the chances of him playing the full 90 minutes is quite less. Except for them, Eden Hazard has been deemed unfit. The Belgian is still struggling with a stomach issue and it might take him some time to return to the action for Real Madrid. Gareth Bale and Dani Ceballos are both out with injuries.
All these may see Carlo retaining his front three of Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes. In a match of this importance where keeping the nerves are important, an experienced manager like Carlo will surely not experiment with his midfield. So, the midfield may consist of Real Madrid’s catalogue midfield three Toni Kroos-Casemiro-Luka Modric.
Ancelotti is likely to keep his back four also the same just with Nacho replacing Alaba in the playing eleven. So, we may see a backline of Dani Carvajal as a right-back, Eder Militao and Nacho Fernandez as center-back pairing and Ferland Mendy as left-back.
Except for these players, Marco Asensio, Luka Jovic and Eduardo Camavinga will be looking forward to getting some minutes as substitutes and will try their absolute best to impress their boss in order to get more playing time in the coming weeks.

Formation:
Carlo Ancelotti is undoubtedly going to stick with his 4-3-3 formation. The squad is accustomed to the structure by this stage of the season and it will also help them match up Sevilla’s 4-3-3 shape.
Predicted Starting Line-up:
Thibaut Courtois (goalkeeper); Dani Carvajal (right-back), Eder Militao (right center-back), Nacho Fernandez (left center-back), Ferland Mendy (left-back); Luka Modric (right central midfielder) Casemiro (defensive midfielder), Toni Kroos (left central midfielder); Rodrygo Goes (right-winger), Karim Benzema (center-forward), Vinicius Junior (left winger).
Real Madrid is looking to capitalize on their home advantages while Sevilla has to depend on their recent impressive form to land a win over the Los Blancos. All in all, it is bound to be an entertaining game as both the teams have only one thing in their minds – the top spot on the LaLiga table!
