5 Players From Real Madrid Who Scored The Highest Number OF Goals For Spain

Real Madrid, a Spanish professional football club (based in Madrid), was established as Madrid Football Club on March 6, 1902. They have always stuck to an all-white home kit since their foundation. The term “Real” is Spanish for “royal” because the club was established in 1920 by King Alfonso XIII.

They won five European Cups in a row and appeared in the finals seven times. Real Madrid and its legends:

1. Raul – 44 goals

Even though Raul played for both Madrid youth clubs, it had been Real who made Raul walk his first steps to first-team football in 1994. Raul stayed sixteen years at the Santiago Bernabéu, crammed with all kinds of collective and individual honours and trophies.

Raul etched his name on the scoreboard 324 times in 741 matches for Real Madrid in total in his 16-year stay. He retired in 2015, after playing his final season with the New Year Cosmos.

2. Fernando Hierro – 29 goals

Hierro made his debut in La Liga with Real Valladolid in the year 1987. In 1989, he was transferred to Real Madrid after two fulfiling seasons at Valladolid. In his fourteen years with Madrid, Hierro won five La Liga and three Champions League titles.

Hierro played 587 matches and netted 124 goals proudly wearing the Whites’ jersey. After spending his last season at Bolton Wanderers, he retired in 2005. Hierro had been capped 89 times for the national team of Spain and scored twenty-nine goals.

3. Emilio Butragueño – 26 goals

Butragueño was a proud graduate of the Real Madrid youth academy. He had joined the academy in 1981, but it had been three years later that he got to be a part of the primary team.

Butragueño appeared in 425 games and scored 154 goals in his 11-year stay in Madrid from 1984 to 1995. He broadcasted his retirement in 1998, after playing his final seasons at Celaya.

He represented the Spain national team in 2 World Cups (being the second top scorer within the 1986 edition) and many European Championships, scoring 26 goals for his country during a record that stood strong for quite a few years.

4. Alfredo Di Stefano – 23 goals

Alfredo Di Stefano began his career in football at River Plate in Argentina in 1945. After he became famous in his homeland and Colombia for Milionarios, it was broadcasted that he would be playing in Real Madrid in 1953.

The Argentine forward made 344 appearances in total for the Whites, netting 266 goals until 1964. Two years hence, Di Stefano retired, after he had spent the previous seasons at Espanyol. He scored 25 goals for the national team of Spain. Unfortunately, the world lost this gem on July 7, 2014, at the age of just 88.

5. Sergio Ramos – 23 goals

Real Madrid stripped Ramos off of Sevilla for $31 million within the summer of 2005, a striking record for a Spanish defender. He is the only Spanish player who was astonishingly brought in by Florentino Perez.

The 34-year-old spectacular defender fought his way to become one of the club’s modern legends. Inspisite of being a centre back, he is one of the top goalscorers with 101 goals in 670 total games. His next goal will rise him to the 18th position even before Juanito and Fernando Morientes.
