“Bids of at least €30 million..”, Manchester United identify a replacement and back up to Diogo Dalot

Inter Milan has been contacted by Premier League giants Manchester United about the prospect of signing defender Denzel Dumfries, who is also being pursued by Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United have reportedly made an inquiry for Inter Milan right defender Denzel Dumfries, as cited by Rudy Galetti. The right-back is wanted by many Premier League teams, including Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, and he may be transferred to England in the next month.

Even before the season started, Erik ten Hag made it obvious that he would require significant reinforcements to compete for the Premier League title. However, the Dutch coach will need a backup since Diogo Dalot will not be able to play in every game this season on the right side of Manchester United’s defence.

The manager has made it obvious that he has no intention of playing Aaron Wan-Bissaka for more than four minutes in the Premier League. In January, Manchester United will aim to replace the player with Dumfries by selling him to a suitor. Wan-Bissaka has been the subject of re-signing interest from Crystal Palace.

Inter Milan has to accept a generous offer in order to balance their budget at the time and cannot afford to turn down such a deal. As a potential replacement for Reece James, Chelsea has also had a look at the player.

Due to his injury, the English international lost out on a spot at the World Cup and will now have to compete with Dumfries for a starting role if he is brought to Stamford Bridge. James’s offensive instincts have been a major asset all season long, and he has been a consistent starter.

Antonio Conte has also made Dumfries a top priority as he looks for a player who can regularly contribute to the attack. The Dutchman has been quite productive in the offensive third, assisting on four goals thus far. One of Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal will leave Tottenham this winter because of their mediocre play.

Inter would only consider bids of at least €30 million, thus Manchester United and Tottenham and Chelsea will be competing for the same player. The Red Devils need to be extremely cautious with their spending after going over their summer budget and dealing with their other issues.
