Bayern Munich on the lookout for an offensive right back, keeping tabs on Dani Carvajal at Real Madrid
Bayern Munich is considering a summer move for Real Madrid's veteran right-back Dani Carvajal
Bayern Munich, according to Defensa Central, has indicated an interest in signing Dani Carvajal from Real Madrid. This summer, the Bundesliga juggernaut will be on the lookout for an offensive right-back. Carvajal is proving to be the best choice given his extensive experience at the top level of football.
The Real Madrid right-back, who came via the club’s development programme, has been a reliable performer for the club over the years. It is estimated that he has made over 300 competitive appearances for the club. Dani Caravajal has contributed significantly to their four Champions League wins and two La Liga crowns during his time with them.
Because of his ongoing injury problems, the seasoned right-back has not been as effective in recent years as he was before. Lucas Vazquez has been forced to rely on his abilities as a result of this situation. Los Blancos are now looking to add a new right-back to their squad in the summer. They have previously pursued former player and PSG sensation Achraf Hakimi for the position.
Many feel that Carvajal would be displeased with the prospect of Real Madrid acquiring a new right-back because he wants to maintain his position as a first-team regular in the coming years. It has heightened the vigilance of Bayern Munich. They are attempting to entice him back to Germany with the prospect of regular playing time.
Bayern Munich, who are now on pace to win their eleventh consecutive Bundesliga championship, is looking to add big reinforcements to their defensive line. Coach Julian Nagelsmann is dissatisfied with Benjamin Pavard’s performances, particularly at right-back. The trial with Bouna Sarr has proven to be a total failure.
Will the Dani Carvajal move to Bayern Munich go through?
Nagelsmann is keen on bringing in a new right-back who is more offensively inclined. Carvajal might prove to be a good choice in that position. In addition to his extensive experience at the top level of football, the Spaniard also has previous experience in the Bundesliga. He has played for a brief period with Bayer Leverkusen.
Carvajal, on the other hand, does not seem to have any urgent intentions to depart the Santiago Bernabeu. Because the player’s contract was extended until 2025 in the summer of 2021, it looks very improbable that Carlo Ancelotti would let the departure of his two most senior full-backs in the same transfer window, despite his stated ambitions to enhance the depth at right-back.
It has the potential to compel Bayern Munich to look elsewhere for a new right-back option. They have been connected with a deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Manchester United. This is fairly surprising considering the Englishman’s relative lack of attacking abilities. However, given Nagelsmann’s aversion to making a formal approach for Wan-Bissaka, Carvajal may be the option to look for.
