‘£20M For Him’- Arsenal Lock Horns With Juventus For The Signing Of A 26-Year Old Striker

Arsenal News Transfer: Arsenal is closing tabs on Hellas Verona striker Giovanni Simeone. Simeone is the son of current Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and he has impressed with his striking abilities.

Last season, he scored 17 goals in 35 appearances for the Serie A club. He is currently on loan from Cagliari which means that Hella Verona is planning to buy him permanently by activating his release clause.

They could buy Simeone for £10m and then sell him for about £20m to clubs like Juventus or Arsenal. Giovanni Simeone is not the only player that Arsenal is interested in.

It has been reported previously that Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus is still their hot target. The Gunners are also keeping close tabs on Tammy Abraham, Victor Osimhen, and Gianluca Scamacca.

Gabriel Jesus could be convinced to join Mikel Arteta’s side for roughly £50m. However, a deal for the other strikers looks tough. Tammy Abraham looks very happy at AS Roma. For Victor Osimhen, Napoli could ask a huge fee of around £100m.

According to Tutto Mercato, Giovanni Simeone could be the cheapest option available for the Gunners for just £20m. However, Arsenal has to face competition from bitter transfer rivals Juventus.

Over the past few years, Arsenal has not been able to grab any player under Juventus’s radar. The Gunners had Manuel Locatelli and Dusan Vlahovic in their plans but Juventus were able to lure them to the Allianz Arena.

Arsenal News Transfer: What Would Giovanni Simeone bring to the table for Mikel Arteta?

Under manager Tudor, Giovanni Simeone has benefitted immensely due to their high-pressing game. He has been excellent in chasing down players and his work ethic is commendable.

He is still a player in progress but his development has taken an upward curve since Hellas Verona’s disastrous 2020/21 season.

Mikel Arteta is currently facing a shortage of strikers with Alexander Lacazette leaving the club. That leaves him with only Nketiah, but he is still young to lead the line every weekend.

Simeone’s signing could be a much cheaper deal for Arsenal and he would act as a good backup right now.
