‘Bid For Him’- Chelsea And Manchester United Are Interested In Securing The Service Of Real Madrid Star

Real Madrid News Transfer: Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy has attracted the interest of some of the top clubs in Europe. As reported by Fichajes, Chelsea and Manchester United are exploring chances to sign the 27-year-old full-back this summer.

Mendy was signed by Real Madrid from Lyon in 2019 for a fee of around £48m. He was destined for some big responsibility at Madrid and he did pretty well. He was a regular player in the starting line-up as he racked up 105 appearances for the club. He has also scored five goals and provided nine assists.

But even after performing consistently for Los Blancos, his place in the squad is at risk. Real Madrid has signed Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea which means that he would function as a center-back for the team next season.

This would shift David Alaba to the left and hence, the manager would prefer to bench Ferland Mendy. Madrid could prefer to use Fran Garcia as a backup. Therefore, the French left-back is concerned about his future as he will reach his prime years.

But, due to these circumstances, Real Madrid is ready to listen to offers and will sell Mendy for the right price. The Spanish club would certainly ask for more than £48m that they invested in the defender.

Real Madrid News Transfer: Chelsea and Manchester United already looking to revamp the left-back position by signing Ferland Mendy:

Chelsea is also not sure about their left-back spot next season. Their regular left-back, Marcos Alonso is inching closer to a move to Barcelona. This could leave a gap in that position that they need to fill in.

Even Manchester United is not happy with Luke Shaw and Alex Telles’s performances. Erik Ten Hag wants a new full-back to provide competition and bring productivity from the back.

As things stand, both the Premier League clubs could make attempts to lure him and they will not have any issues with the price tag.
