‘If we rely only on Erling’s shoulders, we are not going to win the Champions League’-Pep Guardiola comments on whether Erling Haaland will help them to win UCL

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, is of the opinion that despite the fact that the club has improved as a result of the players they have bought, they cannot just depend on Erling Haaland to help them win the Champions League. The Norwegian forward was a summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund to his new club, where he has made an immediate impact since joining.

Few players have done as well as Erling Haaland has ever since he made his debut in the Champions League. The Norwegian forward has been scoring goals at a prodigious pace ever since he made his debut. Not only that, but the 22-year-old has smashed many records along the road with an incredible 23 goals in only 19 appearances, making him the youngest player to score 23 goals in just 19 games. Many people believe that the striker will only carry on scoring even in the Champions League for his new team as a result of this, in addition to the fact that Haaland has already scored 10 goals in only 6 games in the Premier League.

What did Pep Guardiola say about Erling Haaland?

To such an extent that many fans and critics alike believe that the Norwegian could be the missing ingredient that leads Manchester City to that coveted Champions League trophy. Pep Guardiola, however, has rejected the fact and instead confessed that if they simply depend on Haaland, then they would not be successful in winning the title. However, the Spaniard continued by saying that they must assist the striker and play effectively over the whole of the game to be successful in all tournaments.

“All the players the club decided to sign this season came in to try to make us better otherwise it would not make sense. Is that help going to help us win the title? I don’t know. I always have belief, but if we rely only on Erling’s shoulders, we are not going to win the Champions League. What we have to do is play well, create chances to help him score goals and hopefully we can do it,” Guardiola said, reported Sky Sports.
