Twitter Explodes In Rage As A Woeful Manchester United Gets Ravaged By A Visiting Liverpool
In an absolutely calamitous display, Manchester United was just handed the drubbing of a lifetime as an Ole-led squad, severely deprived of any proper plans or strategies, depleted of a man for the last 40 minutes, was thrashed by bitter rivals, Liverpool.
Liverpool drew first blood as early as in the fifth minute of the game as Manchester United was caught off-guard on a counter-attack. With Luke Shaw trying to confront a wily Liverpool attacking triptych, Salah passed the ball calmly to Naby Keita who comfortably tucked it past a hapless De Gea.
This is where the humiliation of Manchester United took shape
All it took Liverpool to double their lead was just six minutes as a lollygagging Maguire and Shaw allowed Naby Keita to slip a through for a rushing Alexander-Arnold while the latter teed up Keita perfectly to slot home.
Salah tripled the lead for Liverpool as he was teed up by Naby Keita after Harry Maguire blocked the Egyptian captain’s strike from close range. The second for Salah on the night of humiliation for Manchester United came in the dying embers of the first half.
Jota squared off a cantering Salah as he sped his way past the defenders and bagged his brace in a symbolic fashion.
The final goal from Liverpool on the night was the courtesy of an excellent pass from their captain, Henderson who carved out a picture-perfect pass for the Egyptian talisman and he calmly slotted it home by drawing De Gea out.
Pogba’s red-card conundrum
Despite Ronaldo hammering home a clinical finish in the 52nd minute, it was ruled off-side as the Portuguese captain found himself infringing in the unspoken area.
Pogba who came on at the stroke of half-time was shown the exit after a nasty tackle where he clattered onto the shin of Naby Keita’s leg. Twitter was furious, sad and absolutely in pieces as Manchester United swallowed the bitter pill of a humiliating shellacking that they did last in 1955.
