Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo tumbled another record and once again it was a first in the entire world. The Portuguese marksman became the first social media personality to reach 400 million Instagram followers.
The 38-year-old footballer reached new heights in his career with every passing moment. He also became the first one to reach 200 million followers in January 2020 and in just two years he managed to double the tally.
The posts that Ronaldo does are mostly about football, his family, his club and occasional glimpses of his brand, CR7. The Manchester United marksman is only the second Instagram handle to boast about 400 million-plus followers with the official handle of Instagram being the first that reads 469m followers.
Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated his birthday with a heartwarming message
Ronaldo celebrated his 37th birthday on Saturday and posted a picture that got 14m likes. He quoted the snap with a heart-warming caption that said, “Life is a roller coaster. Hard work, high speed, urgent goals, demanding expectations. But in the end, it all comes down to family, love, honesty, friendship, values that make it all worth it. Thanks for all the messages! 37 and counting!”
The Manchester United striker was ennobled with two special awards at the FIFA Best awards last month after becoming the highest scorer in the history of FIFA international contests with 115 goals.
Lionel Messi follows suit on Instagram with the second-highest number of followers that reads 300 million. However, when one comes to the total list of the individuals with followers, Messi drops to the third position. Kylie Jenner occupies the second position.
