“He Is One Of The Most Important Players”- Ally McCoist Wants The Arsenal Star To Stay At The Emirates

Arsenal News Transfer: Ally McCoist, a former striker for Sunderland, believes that Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka should remain with the club at the Emirates Stadium. Manchester City has expressed their desire to add Saka to their roster this summer.

Saka had a breakthrough season during the 2020-21 campaign. He participated in 46 games across all competitions and scored seven goals while also dishing out 10 assists. The youngster’s performance during the previous campaign was elevated to a new level, as seen by his 12 goals and seven assists in 43 contests.

The Gunners ended up in fifth place in the Premier League standings. This meant that they did not qualify for the Champions League for the next season despite Saka’s strong performances.

This has led many people to believe that the winger could decide not to extend his contract with the club and instead join Manchester City. This could allow him to play in Europe’s elite competition and potentially win trophies soon.

What did McCoist say?

McCoist, on the other hand, has cautioned Saka against making the transfer to City. He is unsure how much playing time the player would get at the Etihad Stadium.

“You may believe that we would always get to play at Arsenal, but if he moved to City, he would go from being a big fish in a little pond to being a tiny fish in a huge pond. Because they use a rotation system every week, he would not always be playing. However, he is one of the most important players for Arsenal,” McCoist shared his thoughts on talkSPORT.

He added: “He would have a better chance of winning things if he played for City. But it does not mean that Arsenal won’t win anything. That is not the case in any way, shape, or form. The proposition would pique the interest of most young players, as it should have done so already.”

The player, who is just 20, has only two more years left on the contract that he has with the North London club. The Gunners want to make an offer to extend Bukayo Saka’s contract soon with the hope of ensuring that he will be a member of the club for the foreseeable future and ward off interest from Manchester City.

Arsenal News Transfer: The outcome of Arsenal’s transfer negotiations may have an impact on how long Bukayo Saka remains at the club

Before making his debut for the club during the 2018-19 season, Bukayo Saka developed his skills playing for the club’s junior teams in north London. At this time, it is believed that he will be one of the players around whom the club will be able to construct a group for the future.

The young player, who is just 20, almost certainly has aspirations to compete in the Champions League and win trophies. But he could decide to remain at the Emirates Stadium out of devotion to the club and its supporters.

To convince Bukayo Saka to extend his contract with the Gunners, however, the Gunners need to make some statement acquisitions and make it appear that they want to advance and close the gap to teams like Manchester City and Liverpool. Only then can Saka be convinced to sign an extension. During the previous season, the club’s struggles were often caused by a lack of strength in depth as well as experience.

Both a world-class striker to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who departed the club in January, and a top-quality ball-playing midfielder to join Thomas Partey in the middle of the field for the next season are requirements for the team managed by Mikel Arteta.
